Diesels are expected to account for about 48 percent of new-car sales in Europe this year - far greater than in Asia and North America. That percentage is expected to reach 55 percent by the end of the decade.
Bosch predicts that cars with diesel-powered engines will account for 23 percent of worldwide passenger sales in 2010, an increase of more than four percentage points.
