General Motors will give the Hummer H3 a diesel engine in Europe and likely will put diesels in European Cadillacs.
"Our Hummer H3 will fit European customers, and we are considering different alternatives," says John Costin, GM's president of overseas distribution.
GM is evaluating whether it will use a diesel from partner Isuzu or another automaker. No time frame has been announced.
The H3 will offer at least a 3.0-liter diesel-powered engine, GM sources said.
