If - or rather when - Toyota builds a production version of the LF-A supercar concept, it will be a good start.
Since the Lexus brand made its debut at the Detroit auto show, it has steadily built a reputation as a genuine premium/luxury make. Adding a [euro]100,000-plus halo car will add to the marque's luster, especially if it has more than 500hp.
But for Lexus to reach the peak and stay there, Toyota needs its own version of AMG, the arm of Mercedes-Benz that builds high-performance versions of several models, or M, which does the same for BMW.
