Volkswagen Passat

Sales of the Volkswagen Passat fell 19.2% to 214,070 units in 2004 compared with the previous year. The new Passat is due in March, so VW is offering incentives in all the major markets to keep it selling. Customers in Spain can get a [euro]3,000 discount. Dealers in Italy offer a [euro]2,700 trade-in bonus on the sedan or 0% financing on the first [euro]19,500 over 30 months. Options worth up to [euro]2,000 are included in Germany, the UK and France. The best-selling version of the car is the 130hp, 1.9-liter TDI, which takes as little as 1-9 weeks to get.
