It is still widely known as a platform or chassis, but automakers prefer the term "architecture" these days. They think it is more accurate.
While platform refers to the stamped and welded floorpan that is the basis of a vehicle line, architecture also embraces the way in which the vehicle is manufactured.
Whatever the name, architectures already produce plenty of product differentiation within major automotive groups.
