Fiat group Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo and CEO Sergio Marchionne are nearing the three objectives they set when taking over the Italian conglomerate in June 2004.
* Return Fiat group to operating breakeven in calendar-year 2004
* Resolve the dispute with General Motors over the put option
* Create a strong management team, especially at Fiat Auto.
