Ghosn arrives, Bessy goes

PARIS - The arrival of Carlos Ghosn as Renault's CEO sparked changes at the top of the French automaker's public relations department.

Patrick Bessy, Renault's senior vice president for corporate communications, has left the company after 23 years.

Bessy, 57, joins the French transport group Alstom as head of PR today (May 2).

Bessy was named one of Automotive News Europe's Eurostars in 2000 after winning praise for the way he handled Renault's communications during its March 1999 purchase of a controlling stake in Nissan.
