Siemens plans Korean takeover

SEOUL - Hyundai is planning an auto electronics joint venture with Siemens VDO Automotive of Germany, a Hyundai spokesman confirmed.

The two companies plan to produce electronic control systems and multimedia equipment, such as navigation and audio systems.

The two companies aim to acquire a majority stake in Hyundai's former electronics subsidiary, Autonet, a Hyundai source said.
