Hyundai Motor Co. plans to invest [euro]1 billion to build an auto assembly plant in the Czech Republic, the company said Friday.
The plant will have a capacity of 300,000 units a year. Hyundai wants to start building the plant in mid-2006 and begin producing cars in the second half of 2008.
Although Hyundai expects to locate its factory in the Czech Republic - likely in the Ostrava region - it hasn't ruled out locations in neighboring countries.
