Becker to head VW's Kassel

Hans-Helmut Becker will take over as plant manager at Volkswagen's transmission plant in Kassel, Germany, on January 1.

Becker, 56, succeeds Rudiger Weissner, 63, who is retiring at the end of the year.

Becker began his career in the business planning office at the Kassel plant in 1980. Five years later he worked on construction of the site's aluminum recasting facility.
