Automotive News Europe, November, 2005
GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. plans to hire 400 more workers soon as it begins production of its first SUV.
The workers will be added at the Bupyong assembly plant late this year and early next year, the company said.
The plant will produce a medium-sized SUV code-named S3X. GM Daewoo plans to launch the SUV in Korea in early 2006 and begin selling it in Europe with a Chevrolet badge midyear.
There are no plans to sell it in the US because GM has similar size vehicles there.
