Volvo will get closer to its goal of building 600,000 cars a year with the debut of the new C30 hatchback.
The Swedish carmaker is not giving sales or production targets for the new entry-premium car, but company sources say volume will be about 75,000 units a year.
Adding a premium SUV, dubbed the XC50, below its XC90 also will take Volvo nearer to its ambitious target. Volvo will decide whether to build the XC50 within the next few months.
Last year Volvo built 460,891 cars, according to market researchers JATO Dynamics.
