Continental is currently one of the most successful global automotive suppliers. Its 2005 sales rose 9.8 percent to [euro]13.84 billion compared with the year before. Operating income increased 30.2 percent to [euro]1.5 billion and the German tire and electronics supplier improved its return on sales to 10.9 percent last year from 9.2 percent the year before.
