VW gets new medium minivan

Volkswagen will introduce a Golf-based medium minivan in early 2002. The car's debut was delayed for two years because VW redesigned the car to change its seating configuration to seven from five seats. The redesign was prompted by the 1999 arrival of the seven-seat Opel/Vauxhall Zafira. A name for the VW medium minivan has not been picked yet. The new model debuts at this year's IAA in Frankfurt.
