Pininfarina and Zagato are the first two coachbuilders to benefit from Ferrari's decision to allow its brand on customer cars built especially for collectors.
For 30 years, anyone modifying a Ferrari had to remove the Ferrari name and Prancing Horse logo, trademarks heavily protected by the Italian sports car maker.
Now Ferrari will let coachbuilders use its logo and name on one-off units Ferrari approves in advance. But Ferrari will permit only exterior and interior styling changes. Mechanically, nothing can be altered.
The first two custom Ferraris will debut Saturday (April 22) at the Villa d'Este concours d'elegance in Como, Italy.
