Volkswagen is considering building Passats for North America in Mexico instead of Germany, said VW's top manufacturing executive.
The move would be a natural hedge against continued euro-dollar currency fluctuations.
"We face day-to-day exchange rate costs that we simply can't ignore," said Reinhard Jung, VW's head of production, in an interview with Automotive News Europe during a press event here. "The exchange rate situation is unacceptable."
