Piston and engine block specialist Kolbenschmidt Pierburg has been one of the better performing suppliers in Germany in the last few years. It's sales rose 5.6 percent to [euro]2.05 billion in 2005 and its operating profit increased to [euro]146 million from [euro]139 million the year before. Over each of the last two years, the company's earnings before interest and tax has been more than 7 percent. Kolbenschmidt Pierburg CEO Gerd Kleinert, 57, expects continued growth because of the increased demand for aluminum engine blocks in high-end cars. ...
