Money was no object when oil sheiks from Saudi Arabia contacted DaimlerChrysler in suburban Detroit to buy Mercedes F-Cell cars. But D/C had other plans for the rare vehicles.

The F-Cell, a hydrogen-powered fuel cell car, is part of a small but important fleet of experimental vehicles in California.
