Dirk Grosse-Leege, the public face of Volkswagen group, will leave the company early next year.

In his role as VW's head of group communications, Grosse-Leege has been the automaker's chief spokesman during a turbulent time for VW.

In July 2005, Peter Hartz, VW's former head of human resources resigned after a report by auditors KPMG implicated him in a bribery and corruption affair that KMPG said has cost the company at least [euro]5 million.
