The consortium working on car-to-car communication in Europe has a problem. It still needs a radio frequency on which to transmit the data that will warn motorists of problems ahead such as accidents, congestion and dangerous weather conditions.

The lack of a frequency is one of the issues that caused the group of automakers, partsmakers, research laboratories and German government agencies to delay presentation of the European system.
