DaimlerChrysler names Becht to lead legal team

Gerd Becht, 54, is DaimlerChrysler's new chief legal officer.

Becht succeeds Bill O'Brien, 63, who retired October 1. Becht previously was D/C's head of legal affairs for Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

O'Brien was chief legal officer for Chrysler Corp. until 1998, when he took the same post with the newly created DaimlerChrysler following the 1998 merger between Chrysler and Daimler-Benz.

Morgan joins car carrier association

Mark Morgan is the new executive director of the European Car-Transport Group (ECG).
