What started out as a way for European suppliers to demonstrate their technical prowess and manufacturing abilities to Volkswagen engineers and purchasing agents has taken on a life of its own.

The International Supplier Fair in Wolfsburg, Germany, has become both bigger and more globally oriented. This year's event in mid-October features a number of suppliers from outside western Europe. The featured country is China, where Volkswagen has long had major operations through its two joint-venture partners.
