Ross buys German auto fabric supplier
Auto parts industry consolidator Wilbur Ross has added BST Safety Textiles of Germany to his list of acquisitions.
Ross, a New York billionaire, already has bought Collins & Aikman's European operations and expects to buy Lear's European interior systems division later this month.
BST Safety Textiles of Maulberg, southern Germany, makes fabrics for airbags and seat belts. It employs 1,250 people and operates four plants in southern Germany, two plants in the US and one factory in Poland.
