Bez wants Aston Martin sold quickly

Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez denied that he is leading a management buyout of the available Ford-owned luxury brand he runs. But said he hopes that whoever buys the brand will do so by the end of 2006.

"I am not part of any group. I am together with management, and we are open to different strategic options," Bez said.

Bez hopes whoever buys Aston Martin will allow Ford to retain a minority share. That way, Aston Martin still will have favorable access to Ford's supplier base, as well as to Volvo's safety technology.
