Skoda's Joyster concept car got an approving nod from Volkswagen group Supervisory Board Chairman Ferdinand Piech.

Skoda Chairman Detlef Wittig said Piech was particular impressed with the three-door car's rear end, which has a tailgate that can be turned into a bench.

"He knows that we at Skoda are able to step outside the box," Wittig said. "We don't want to follow, we want to lead and who knows, maybe we catch a trend."

Wittig said Skoda wants the car to appeal to younger customers "because that is the future." ...
