Mahindra & Mahindra, India's leading manufacturer of SUVs and tractors, is in talks to buy a majority stake in Schoneweiss & Co., a German supplier of car and heavy-truck chassis components.

Schoneweiss has 550 employees and specializes in drop-forge operations. Its blue-chip customer base includes DaimlerChrysler, MAN, Scania and Volvo on the truck side and Volkswagen group, Volvo and BMW on the car side.
