After six years of restructuring - and financial losses - all signs indicate General Motors Europe will make a profit in 2006.

GM Europe's better model mix and its strong presence in emerging markets have led to improved sales.

In the first 10 months, GM Europe sold 1.68 million units, a 10,000-unit increase from the year-earlier period. Most of that growth is coming from eastern Europe, where Chevrolet has helped GM increase year-over-year sales by 55 percent to 140,211 units this year.
