Former Fiat and Audi CEO Herbert Demel has been given a big promotion less than two years after he rejoined Magna International.

The CEO of the Canadian supplier's powertrain division was named to the parent company's executive committee January 1.

Other members of the committee include Magna International co-CEOs Siegfried Wolf and Donald Walker and President Mark Hogan.
