Derrick Kuzak will accelerate Ford Motor's plans to have a wide range of global vehicle platforms.
That is one of the challenges that came with his December promotion to head of global product development.
Specifically, the automaker's worldwide subsidiaries will give up some of their independence and be required to think globally, company spokeswoman Sara Tatchio said.
