Volkswagen group soon will announce that it will build a second-generation Sharan at its Autoeuropa plant in Setubal, Portugal, company sources say.

Production of the Sharan and its sister model, the Seat Alhambra, will start in late 2008.

Sharan production began at Autoeuropa 12 years ago along with the Alhambra and the first-generation Ford Galaxy.
