Lexus hopes the prospect of better-than-average profits will attract more dealers to sell its cars.
Toyota's premium brand needs more dealers so it can reach 65,000 sales by 2010. Toyota sold 50,570 Lexus models in 2006 in greater Europe, which includes western, central and eastern Europe, Russia and the former Soviet republics.
"The profitability of Lexus dealers is above the industry average in Europe, but we would like to be a little stronger," Lexus Europe Vice President Karl Schlicht told Automotive News Europe.
