The Geneva auto show normally is an exhibition for spectacular concepts.

But this year automakers are putting the spotlight on new production cars.

Key launches include Ford's new Mondeo and a concept for Opel/Vauxhall's Vectra successor. Both cars need to be good to stop more customers in the shrinking upper-medium segment from choosing premium rivals or SUV/minivan crossovers.
