Volvo expects its new C30 entry-premium hatchback and its latest S80 medium-premium sedan to push the automaker to record global sales this year.
"Our objective is to have an all-time high in terms of sales" this year, Volvo CEO Fredrik Arp said at the Geneva auto show. "The best year so far was 2004 with 456,000 cars. So that means that we must overshoot that."
Volvo expects to reach 600,000 annual sales by the end of the decade with help from an expanded product line and dealer network. Volvo sold 430,000 units last year.
