Heuliez says partner search is progressing

Heuliez "is making progress" on finding a financial partner, says CEO Paul Queveau.

The family-owned French coachbuilder is seeking an investor to help it cope with a downturn in specialty vehicle manufacturing.

"We are talking with a couple of European automakers about a soft-top convertible system," Queveau told Automotive News Europe.

Heuliez wants to land a new car-manufacturing contract this calendar year to be ready when its Opel Tigra TwinTop production stops in mid-2009.
