Volkswagen partner Eurocar improves production plant in Ukraine.(News)

Volkswagen group's Ukrainian partner Eurocar is converting its kit-building facility into a more complete assembly plant.

The factory in Solomonovo has started construction on a welding line and paint shop, Eurocar Director Oleg Boyarin told Automotive News Europe.

When work is complete in 2009, Eurocar's capacity will be 100,000 units a year.

"Last year, we assembled 21,000 units; this year it will be 39,500," Boyarin said. "Improving the plant also will save VW money," he added.
