On April 19, two days after his 70th birthday, Ferdinand Karl Piech will take the center seat on the long stage inside the Congress Centrum in downtown Hamburg and celebrate one of the finest achievements of his 44-year automotive career.

Piech's appearance at Volkswagen's annual shareholders meeting will be the crowning moment for one of the auto industry's shrewdest personalities. At the meeting, Piech will be voted in for another five-year term as chairman of VW's supervisory board.
