Siemens VDO and Mahle want to enter the booming market for turbochargers.
Mahle, a German manufacturer of engine components, intends to launch turbocharger production by 2011, at the latest.
A Siemens VDO spokesman said the company has been working on systems of this kind but there has been no decision on regular production.
