BMW's is realigning its production in Europe and the US. That could be a boost for Austrian coachbuilder Magna Steyr.
Magna could win contracts to assemble new models such as a Mini SUV, known internally as the Colorado, and the BMW X1 crossover. Both models are due in 2010.
Magna also may win some production of the 3-series sedan to free capacity in BMW's Regensburg, Germany, plant for the Z4 sports car. Z4 production is being transferred from BMW's Spartanburg plant in the US to Regensburg.
