TVSM Charges TV Guide Research Data |Manipulated' NEW YORK - TVSM Inc., publisher of three cable guides, called media research in a new sales presentation by competitor TV Guide "obviously manipulated." The charge marked the latest salvo in the struggle to deliver national print advertising to the nation's cable households.

Seeing its circulation slipping, TV Guide is intensifying the courtship of cable operators as an alternative marketing channel and, consequently, stepping up efforts in the advertising industry to sell the book as the best vehicle into cable homes (Multichannel News, May 21, page 78).
