Fox Eyes Cable, But for What? In the latest chapter in the so-called "cable comes of age" story, Fox, one of the last Hollywood holdouts, announced its intentions to enter the cable fray with the creation of Fox Cable Programming. At this point in time, absolutely nothing is known about what Fox has in mind for its new cable unit which is being formed to explore the company's entry into the basic cable business.
But whatever Fox winds up doing in cable is likely to be unique, given its track record in the TV industry to date, its strategies for the future involving new technology and its overall penchant for rocking the boat.
