C-SPAN First To Show Federal Court Proceeding Live WASHINGTON - When C-SPAN went live last Wednesday with complete, unedited coverage of a federal military appeals court proceeding, the cable network quietly made history. It is believed that the event marked the first live telecast of a federal court proceeding, according to legal experts and court officials.
"It took a long time ... one year in planning," C-SPAN chairman and CEO Brian Lamb said, explaining that network representatives had met with Chief Judge Robinson Everett numerous times about live coverage of the United States Court of Military Appeals.
