Comcast Seeks Personal Communications Net Test License Comcast Corp. applied Thursday to the FCC to experiment with linking cable and cellular phone systems with developing personal communications network technology. Although Comcast is the fourth MSO to apply for a PCN test license, its control of cable and cellular in a single market makes the Philadelphia-based company the first to try to link the two systems in-house.

Still under development, PCNs are mini-cellular systems employing small, portable phones running at much lower power than conventional cellular phones.
