Sci-Fi Delays Launch; Ops Wait for Details

A soft advertising climate has postponed The Sci-Fi Channel's launch until at least the second quarter of 1991, but the network is using the time to continue its search for Japanese investors and MSO deals.

Meanwhile, cable operators said that although the proposed network is offering a competitive deal, they want to see more product, a proven interest in that product and evidence of more financial backing, either by MSOs or outside investors.
