Warner System Sued For Access 'Piracy' Warner Cable Houston and Access Houston Cable Corp. just can't make nice. In a lawsuit filed May 17 in a Texas state court, Access Houston accused Warner of pirating access programming by making the corporation's shows available to Warner system homes outside the Houston city limits in order to satisfy access requirements in other communities.

But when the cable operator computes its payments for support of the access corporation, it counts only homes within the city limits, according to Access Houston. The lawsuit alleges that this conduct violates federal law through unauthorized transmission of cable programming and trademark infringement.
