Aide: Expect Compulsory License Hearings WASHINGTON -- There's a "good possibility" that the House copyright subcommittee will hold hearings on cable's compulsory license, which will most likely also include retransmission consent legislation, according to a senior aide for the panel. With the end of this congressional session nearing, such hearings likely won't be conducted until January.

But in the next few weeks, the House subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property Rights and the Administration of Justice will meet with interested parties to discuss the 15-year-old compulsory license, said the aide.
