The all-digital high-definition television proposal submitted by Zenith Electronics Corp. and AT&T Bell Laboratories to the Federal Communications Commission's Advisory Committee on Advanced Television Services has been certified for testing, which will begin in January 1992. General Instrument Corp.'s DigiCipher system had earlier been certified and is expected to undergo testing this year, officials at teh Advanced Television Test Center said.
The ATTC is the HDTV testing laboratory set up by the National Association of Broadcasters and supported by Cable Television Laboratories Inc.
