NEW YORK -- Cable operators see a window of opportunity for the PPV Olympics to capitalize on CBS' Winter Olympics coverage to promote the TripleCast presentation. But to date, NBC and Cablevision Systems Corp. have no plans to change the current advertising campaign and seem likely to leave that job up to individual operators.
Despite higher-than-expected ratings, CBS has been criticized by some viewers and television sports writers for airing too many commercials and local features and not enough live action. Operators have also criticized the lack of actual Olympics action on CBS, but said that could work to the PPV Olympics' advantage.
