Crime of the '90s A VICTORY AT HAND IN WORSENING PIRACY WAR Cable operators would win a "monumental" victory in the war against cable piracy if an imminent federal court ruling goes their way, according to Cablevision Systems Corp. executives. The signal-theft case, a joint crackdown by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Cablevision, involves 50,000 pieces of equipment used for pirating cable, seized in three New York-area facilities last October - including an old A&P supermarket where hundreds of bingo-playing senior citizens were startled by six 200-pound Cablevision security people and deputy U.S.
