N.Y. Senate candidate banks on cable. (Robert Mrazek puts $350,000 worth of ads on cable systems across New York)

NEW YORK -- Even though the primary is not until September, one candidate for the Democratic nomination for a U.S. Senate seat is putting more than $350,000 worth of ads on cable systems across the state.
Rep. Robert Mrazek, who is considered an underdog in the five-way race, began running ads March 2 in the Buffalo and Rochester areas and will begin airing spots in central New York by the end of the month, according to campaign manager George B. Burger, a principal in Lunde & Burger. The campaign also plans a heavy concentration of ads on cable systems in New York City and on Mrazek's home base of Long Island during the 12-week flight.
