NEW YORK -- In the latest phase of the merger of Warner Cable into American Television & Communications Corp., Time Warner Cable consolidated its three owned-and-operated systems in New York City into a single operation, making it the nation's second-largest single system with 565,000 subscribers.

The shuffle combines Manhattan Cable TV, Brooklyn-Queens Television and American Cablevision of Queens into one integrated unit under Richard Aurelio, president of the Time Warner New York City Group. The chief casualty of the reorganization is Victor LoBasso, president of Manhattan Cable TV. A 22-year veteran of the system, LoBasso was not favored by Aurelio, and his departure from the company had been rumored for months. A Time Warner Cable spokesman would say...
